Luck and Steele Design
Luck and Steele Design, formed in 1991, is a small practice specialising in graphic design for museums and heritage organisations. Work undertaken includes design and artwork for interior and exterior display panels, leaflets, posters, booklets, educational resource packs, illustrations, and design for small exhibitions. We can also design simple but effective websites and supply HTML files. We have also provided design support for other consultants specialising in museum and exhibition design.

We are independent designers and do not print or manufacture panels and displays ourselves. You can appoint us to supervise production for you or choose to manage the production of your project yourself.

Our approach is to develop designs that are appropriate by listening to our clients and understanding their requirements. We use shape, colour and context to interpret and evoke the period, character and significance of exhibits and subject matter.

The partners are Nigel Luck and Penny Steele.

Nigel Luck studied Interior Design at Kingston Polytechnic. He has worked as an interior and 3D designer since 1973 and past employers include The Crown Suppliers, Property Services Agency and Morgan Lovell.

Penny Steele originally studied 3D Design (Ceramics) at Wolverhampton Polytechnic. She has worked as an illustrator and graphic and exhibition designer since 1977 and past employers include the Imperial War Museum, English Heritage, Sussex Archaeological Society, Wandsworth Museum and Gloucester City Museum and Art Gallery.

Luck and Steele Design are corporate members of the Museums Association and the Association for Heritage Interpretation.
